N1IV, in it's current state, has been established since June of 2002. The desk is far more compact than some shacks today but it's cozy and everything is in reach without moving around the room. The latest addition is the new Icom IC-756ProIII... what a sweetheart! After going through several Kenwood rigs trying to find a really nice HF setup, I decided on the Icom. It is a great rig and I'm still learning the nuances of Icom equipment. I've also recently traded my TS-2000 for an Icom IC-910H for UHF/VHF/Satellite work. It also has the 1.2Ghz module... an antenna is needed so I'm not up on that band yet! I built a K1EL K40 Keyboard Interface with the RTTY module. The Pro3 has RTTY capability so it's nice to be able to take advantage of another mode. The K40 operates both CW and RTTY, although, I plan to use it for RTTY only. I'm also working on getting my CW back... have a Begali Magnetic Professional and hope to get back into that mode, too. Everything in the shack is connected to the computer, in one way or another. It's amazing what has been accomplished in Rig Control, Rotor Control and actual Digital Modes. The PC has 6 com ports, the 2 ports on the motherboard as well as a SIIG PCI Expander 4S Plus and all are used! Hope to catch you on the air...
